WithersP**n stays 'True' to D'Works
Reese WithersP**n and Mark Ruffalo are in talks to topline "If Only It Were True" at DreamWorks. Mark Waters is directing.
Story concerns a man who falls in love with the spirit of a woman whose apartment he comes to inhabit.
Walter Parkes and Laurie McDonald are producing.
DreamWorks exec David Beaubaire, who joined the company in the spring, will oversee the pic.
The studio hopes to begin shooting in November and release the film next year.
Pic is among many projects WithersP**n has been eyeing as both an actor and, via her Type A production shingle, producer.
WithersP**n will next play June Carter Cash alongside Joaquin Phoenix in Columbia's Johnny Cash biopic "Walk the Line," lensing this summer with James Mangold directing. She is also attached to star in the romantic comedy "Sammy," which Laurence Mark is producing at Col.
Ruffalo will next be seen in August in the DreamWorks pic "Collateral," starring Tom Cruise, and opposite Naomi Watts in Warner Independent's "We Don't Live Here Anymore." This summer he begins shooting the Warner Bros. pic based on "The Graduate" that stars Jennifer Aniston.
Waters is fresh off two tweener hits: Paramount's "Mean Girls" and Disney's "Freaky Friday."
