Pierce & Salma's Sexy 'Sunset'
Taking a break from his 007 duties, super spy PIERCE BROSNAN is
starring opposite sultry SALMA HAYEK in 'After the Sunset,' a
romantic caper shot on beautiful Paradise Island in the Bahamas.
Tonight on ET, our own CARLOS PONCE is first behind the scenes as he
visits the comely onscreen couple on the set -- and plays a
practical joke on Salma!
"We have a lot of sexy scenes," Salma assures Carlos about her
steamy onscreen relationship with Pierce, adding. "I had a crush on
him when I was living in Mexico and he was doing 'Remington Steele.'"
Later, when the crafty Carlos tells Pierce about Salma's schoolgirl
crush on him, the former TV series superstar coyly replies, "Is that
what she said? Well, she's a great woman for saying that."
In 'After the Sunset,' due in theaters this November, Pierce and
Salma play Max and Lola, a master thief couple who decide to retire
in paradise after their big, final score. Their lifelong adversary,
FBI agent Stan (WOODY HARRELSON), finds it hard to believe they're
retired, however -- especially when a tempting "diamond cruise"
passes right before their eyes. Washing ashore to keep his eyes on
Max and Lola, the trio begins a new game of cat and mouse filled
with tentative friendship, suspicion and thievery.
This isn't the first time Pierce has played an artful dodger.
Although perhaps best known as James Bond, the Irish-born actor has
peppered his career with edgier roles as an art thief in the remake
of 'The Thomas Crown Affair' and a corrupt British spy in 'The
Tailor of Panama.' In the upcoming 'The Matador,' he plays a world-
traveling assassin who strikes up an unusual friendship with an
incredibly average couple, played by GREG KINNEAR and HOPE DAVIS.
'After the Sunset' is Pierce's first collaboration with Salma and
marks the first feature film to be shot on the grounds of the
incredible Atlantis resort and casino on Paradise Island. Directed
by 'Rush Hour' and 'Red Dragon' man BRETT RATNER, the film also
stars DON CHEADLE.
