Hudson Stands By Spider-man Decision
Actress Kate Hudson remains comfortable with her decision to turn down a starring role in the Spider-Man movies - despite its phenomenal success and anticipated sequel.
The Almost Famous star turned down the chance to play Mary Jane Watson in the 2002 movie, with Kirsten Dunst later snapping up the role and the film going on to make 821.7 million worldwide.
And with the upcoming sequel expected to perform well at the box office, Hudson stands by her decision.
She says, "You know something like Spider-Man would be a huge hit and that you're going to work with fantastic people. You just have to decide if it's the right time to be doing those things, and for me it wasn't."
Hudson ended up choosing to star in period drama Four Feathers and the romantic comedy Alex and Emma - neither of which enjoyed huge box office success.
She adds, "I made mistakes all the time, but you've got to go with your gut instinct."
