Third Time Lucky? J. Lo Reportedly Marries Marc Anthony
Let's hope the third time's a charm for J. Lo.
Jennifer Lopez, 33, married Marc Anthony, 34, at a low-key ceremony Saturday afternoon at Lopez's Beverly Hills home, according to reports. The wedding came less than a week after Anthony's divorce from his wife of four years, and just five months after Lopez and actor Ben Affleck called off their much-publicized engagement.
Guests, including Lopez's family, were on hand for the nuptials, according to People magazine's Web site. A large white tent was erected on her estate, and balloons peppered the property. The bride wore a dress with a veil and carried an umbrella as she walked across the backyard. Vows were exchanged shortly after 6 p.m.
Representatives for Lopez and Anthony could not be reached at press time.
The marriage was perhaps as much of a surprise for the public as it was for the guests. A source told People that J. Lo had invited people to her house for a "beautiful afternoon party," but made no mention of a wedding.
It's the third time down the aisle for J.Lo, who was previously married to Ojani Noa for a year in 1997, and dancer Chris Judd for nine months in 2001. Her relationship with Anthony was kept decidedly more private than her 18-month stand with Affleck, which spurred the term "Bennifer" to relay their inseparability in public. The couple blamed excessive media attention for ending their engagement in January (see "Ben and J. Lo Call Off Engagement").
Anthony, who wed former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres in 2000, has two young sons from that marriage, and a daughter from a previous relationship.
It's unclear when Lopez and Anthony began their romance, but after first dating in 1999 they had been linked since she split with Affleck. She had been seen wearing a diamond engagement ring — different from the one she returned to Affleck earlier this year — for weeks.
